The Obama Administration’s strategy of engaging the world – particularly through multilateral institutions – has proven to be one of the most pronounced foreign policy differences from the previous administration.  Please join us for an exciting Members Lunch discussion about this approach with the Obama Administration’s leading official on multilateral engagement – Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs Esther Brimmer.  Brimmer will explain the administration’s approach to multilateralism and engagement, its achievements, and its plans for the future.  The Assistant Secretary’s remarks will be followed by reactions from two distinguished panelists: Charles Kupchan, author of How Enemies Become Friends: The Sources of Stable Peace, and Stewart Patrick, author of The Best Laid Plans: The Origins of American Multilateralism and the Dawn of the Cold War.  Their presentations will be followed by an open discussion with the audience.
