10 Healing Prayers for a Healthy Relationship

All relationships suffer through their difficulties and challenges. Here are 10 healing prayers for a healthy relationship.

Prayer for the Holy Spirit’s Help
Merciful Loving God, mold me to be kind and tenderhearted. Change my heart, Lord, so that I am slow to anger. Help me prevent the devil from gaining a foothold in my marriage. Fill my marriage with the Holy Spirit. Work within my heart to show me how to build my spouse up and meet his/her needs. Crush all bitterness. Replace it with agape love. Amen.

Prayer for Closeness
Gracious Lord, You are Lord of my life and marriage. Your holy Word teaches me the value of a friend. I pray for this type of friendship in my marriage. I pray that as spouses, we will be intertwined together with You into a threefold cord that will not be quickly broken. Please guide and lead us so that our words and actions can bring about a more profound friendship and love for one another. Amen.

Husband’s Prayer for Wisdom
God of Blessing, I come before You seeking Your wisdom. You have created man and woman to be different from each other, but with Your wisdom, the two can come together and be one. Give me the wisdom on how I can lead my wife so we can be a single unit working together to face everything this world throws at us. I need words to speak, but beyond that, I need Your supernatural wisdom and discernment to be the godly leader You have called me to be. Amen.

Prayer for Unity
Righteous Savior, I am praying for the precious gift of unity in my relationships. Your holy Scripture teaches me the value of harmony. Lord, I do not practice this principle consistently in my life, and I need Your help to be a person of unity. Mold me into Your image. Help me to dwell together with my brothers and sisters in Christ in unity. Enable me to bring honor to Your name through my life. Amen.

Prayer for Fervent Love
God of Mercy and Love, I come for help in making the relationship with my spouse be the best it can. You tell me to have fervent love for one another as believers. Sometimes, Lord, I think it is easier to show love to strangers than to my spouse. I know this is not of You, so please forgive me. Change me, O God. Help me to have a deep love for my spouse that can only come from You. Amen.

Prayer for Help to Love
Loving Lord, I am humbled before You as I contemplate Your everlasting love for Your children. You have given us a daunting commandment: to love one another as You have loved us. As I think about my marriage, I confess that I do not have this love for my spouse. I need to love with a love that can only come from You. Please change my heart. Make me new. Amen.

Prayer for Edifying Relationships
Precious Lord, You have told us to pursue things that will create peace and the edification of others. I come seeking help to be this type of person, one who teaches and improves others. I pray You would grant me a heart and mind that is committed to pursuing things that result in peace and edification of my loved ones. Help me, Lord, to be more Christ-like in all my relationships. Amen.

Prayer for a Loving Attitude
Loving Lord, thank You for giving Your life for us in love. I feel my relationships could use more loving actions to back up my words. Help me, Lord, to not just speak the words “I love you,” but help me also to be the type of person who demonstrates love. Jesus, Your sacrifice for us is the greatest demonstration of love. Help me to live out Your agape love. Amen.

Prayer for a Listening Spirit
Jehovah, my God, Your great sacrifice on the cross and continued love is a tremendous comfort. You always listen to my prayers. Listening to someone is a great act of love. You tell me that I need to be quick to listen and slow to speak and anger. Lord, I feel that I am not practicing this in my marriage. Please give me ears that are attentive to my spouse’s words. Please give me ears that truly hear. Amen.

Prayer for Love
Father God, You are the very essence of love, goodness, purity, and holiness. We pray that You would help us to love each other with the love that comes only from You. We know that love binds everything together in perfect harmony. Gracious God, help us as a couple to put on love every day. Love for You, love for each other, love for the hurting and for the lost. Help us to overcome all in our lives and our marriage with the love of Jesus Christ. Amen.
