Bless these heroes and keep them safe in their noble vocation, that they may exhibit Your sacrificial love day in and day out and go home safely to their families. Amen.

Firefighter’s Personal Prayer for Wisdom on the Front Lines
Lord God of heaven’s armies, once again, I am called to the front lines. As the alarm rings, the sounds and sights become overwhelming. I don’t have time to think and prepare, and instinct and wisdom begin to take precedent. I ask that You fill me with Your divine wisdom. Enlighten my mind with Your Spirit, that I may make wise decisions in the heat of the moment. You say to ask my generous God for wisdom, and He will give it to me. I ask You, Almighty Father. Lord Jesus, You say You will keep me from all harm, that You will watch over my life, both now and forevermore. Lord, as I go again on a call to put out flames, I ask that You bless me. Keep me close to You so that I may do my job as a firefighter with love and humility. Bless me with the integrity that I need, so that I do not seek praise and admiration, but the approval of You alone. Bless me, Lord, so that the flames do not touch me and the smoke does not reach my lungs. Bless me with a long life of service to others. I pray this through Jesus Christ, my Lord. Amen.

Lord Jesus, as my loved one again answers the call of a fire, I ask that You send Your Spirit to be with him/her. For they are tired and run down. Day in and day out, they work until there is nothing left of them. They enter perilously into harm’s way and are thanked very little for it. O Lord, give them a tough hide, but a soft heart. Give them the strength and fortitude to do their duty honorably, that they may become a better servant of all. Amen.

Prayer to Guide My Loved One
Lord Jesus, amid a burning building, it can be very difficult to make it through. The halls fill with smoke. Breathing becomes difficult. As my loved one enters buildings as a firefighter, I pray that You miraculously take him/her by the hand. Guide him/her through these buildings so that he/she remains safe and out of harm’s way. Send Your angel to encamp around my loved one and deliver him/her safely from the flames. Amen.

Gracious Lord, each day, the families of firefighters must endure anxiety and uncertainty about the safety of their beloved. Let Your caring Spirit wash over them. Soothe their fears and uncertainties, ever confident that You will do right according to Your good judgment.
