11 Uplifting Prayers for Fathers Day

Deuteronomy 6:6-9
Holy Lord, I thank You for my earthly Father, and I thank You for the commandments that You gave him to impress on me as a child. My father taught me about Your ways whilst we sat at home, whilst he took me to school, before bed and in the morning! Your word has been a symbol on his hands and a guide for him, which has made me who I am today. Thank You for my Father, Amen.

Ephesians 6:11,13
Matchless God, I adore You because You have blessed me with such a loving Father! I pray that he is covered by the full armour that comes from You, so that he may stand against the devil’s schemes. I declare that my father puts on the full armour so that when the day of the devil comes, he can stand his ground. I know that nothing will defeat him because he is dedicated to You, Amen.

Psalm 103:13
Awesome God, I am grateful for my earthly father who has shown me genuine love and care. I thank You for the compassion that he has had for me, because this has given me insight into the type of compassion to those who fear You. I have been blessed with such a great earthly father, but You Lord, are the greatest Father of them all! Amen.

Proverbs 3:11-12
Gracious Lord, I do not despise the discipline that You have shown me over the years, nor do I resent Your rebuke because You discipline who You love, as a father who delights in his son. I thank You that my earthly Father has also shown me love and discipline, because I know he has done it out of love for me. I pray that You continue to keep my earthly father and bless him on this special day (Father’s Day), Amen.

Proverbs 14:26
Heavenly Father, I thank You for my earthly Father! I thank You for the fear and honour that he has towards You, because You are his secure fortress, and in You I also have found refuge! I pray that You bless my father this Father’s Day and cover him in all that he does. I declare victory and restoration in every aspect of his life, I declare prosperity in his career and finances, Amen.

1 Corinthians 13:1-2
Righteous God, I thank You for Your love as this has been the foundation of the relationship with me and my earthly father. We can speak in tongues of men or angels, but without love, we are just clanging cymbals. We can have the gift of prophecy, or even have faith that can move mountains, but without love, we are nothing. I thank You for allowing love to be the foundation of our hearts, Amen.

Proverbs 22:6
Awesome God, I thank You for this special day – Father’s Day – because many have not experienced an earthly father, or a good one. You have blessed me with a father who started me off on the way that I should go, so that even as I grow older, I know that I will not turn from it. Your truth and word have been permanently imprinted on my heart, I pray that this continues to get passed down to future generations, Amen.

Ephesians 6:1-4
God of Love, I have obeyed my earthly father for I know this is right, I have honoured him, and I have respected him. I thank You for giving me a father who has not provoked me but instead has brought me up in the training and the instruction of the Lord. I thank You for blessing me with an earthly father who has taught me how to live righteously with You, continue to be with him this Father’s Day, Amen.

2 Samuel 7:14-15
Heavenly Father, I thank You for blessing me with an earthly father, who when I do wrong, disciplines me rightly and fairly. Just like You have disciplined him and have never removed Your gracious love from him, he too has loved me unconditionally. I praise Your Name for giving me a father who does not judge too harshly, nor keeps his love from me. Bless him this Father’s Day, Amen.

Proverbs 23:22
Eternal One, I adore You for blessing me the best earthly father that I could ask for. I have listened to him who gave me life, and I declare that I will not despise him when he is old. I pray that You continue to keep my father in the safety of Your pavilion for he is such a great blessing in my life! I am grateful to celebrate this Father’s Day knowing that You have blessed me with a father who is so special, Amen.

Dear Lord, Your word states that a father of a righteous child has great joy; a man who fathers a wise son rejoices in him. I pray that I remain righteous and wise so that I can be a joy to my father. I pray that I make him proud in all that I do because he has been an inspiration to me. I praise You for my father on this very special day, Amen.
