Prayer #1

I need You, Lord, now more than ever. This sadness in my heart craves to find that wonderful joy only You can give and that peace that passes all understanding. My heart cries out to You.

Give me strength, oh gentle Savior. In Jesus’ name, love, joy, peace and happiness will follow me wherever I go and this sadness within me will be destroyed, Amen and Amen!

Prayer #2

Dear God,

Some days feel too hard. We’re hurting. Struggling. Fighting fear and worry at every turn. Thank you in the midst of it all, you haven’t left us to fend for ourselves. Forgive us for doubting you are there. Forgive us for thinking you’ve forgotten. Forgive us for believing we somehow know the better way.

You are fully trustworthy. You are All-Powerful. You are Able. You are Lord over every situation no matter how difficult it may seem. You are Healer and will never waste the grief we carry today. You will use all things for good in some way. Anything is possible with you. Nothing is too difficult for you.

We lay it all down at your feet, every burden, every care. Believing that is the safest place for it to be. We love you, Lord, we need your fresh grace. In the Powerful Name of Jesus, Amen.

Prayer #3

I need you Lord now more than ever. This sadness in my heart craves to find that wonderful joy only You can give and that peace that passes all understanding. My heart cries out to thee, give me strength, Oh gentle Savior.

In Jesus name, love, joy, peace, and happiness will follow me wherever I go and this sadness within me will be diminished. Amen.

Prayer #4

Peaceful, Loving Father, I humbly ask that you heal this ache in my heart, Oh Lord. Allow me to find that joy that I once knew.

The sadness of my heart consumes me. But I will not give in, for I am stronger than the mind games the devil tries to play on me.

Prayer #5

Father, thank you. When my heart is sad You whisper “come and talk.” You invite me into Your throne room to tell You about whatever is bothering or upsetting me. What a blessing to come and sit in Your presence and hear that You love and forgive me. And in my hurt You remind me of the peace that comes in forgiving others. Your grace and mercy overwhelm me. Lord, I am coming … thank you for hearing my prayer. Amen.

Prayer #6

Father, this world can be terrifying and sad. Terrible things happen and sometimes I feel like I just want to stay in bed and hide. But You are my rock and my salvation. You are strong and trustworthy and because of who You are, I will not be overcome. Generation after generation You prove Yourself trustworthy. So, I will pour my heart out to You remembering the many times You have calmed my heart in the past. Thank you, Father. You are my safe place and You fill me with hope. Amen.

Prayer #7

Father, I love these words. You are Creator, the namer of stars. You rule over the universe and yet, You care about me. It’s really too wonderful to grasp … that You would know the “number of hairs on my head” (Matthew 10:30) and the deepest thoughts in my heart … the broken places I try to hide from the world. Thank you for Your love and care, for healing the broken pieces of my heart. You are great and You are tender. I thank and praise You. Amen.

Prayer #8

Even though I am hurt and the pain lingers on each day, I will not give up, for the battle is already won.

This sadness sickens my soul. These tears that hit my pillow at night longs to see happiness once more and I pray that You will open up a way for me.

Prayer #9

Dear God,

I’m in pieces, everywhere I look there is brokenness. Nothing seems to make sense, why is there such suffering in the world Lord? I feel at a loss, as I don’t know how to manage these feelings. I am alone, I feel isolated, and wonder if anyone would want to be with me. Oh come to my aid Lord, lead me to something or someone who can help. Bless my efforts to seek you, and my attempts at reaching out to others. I lay these feelings of sadness and loneliness at the foot of the cross.
I choose to look to you, and trust that you can lead me out of this hard place.

Amen.

Prayer #10

Lord, my heart is so heavy this morning. My sorrow is so great. In the midst of all this pain I am feeling, I am so thankful that you are God and I am not. I am thankful that you are all-powerful, that I do not have to hold it all together or be strong for everyone in my life. You are my strength. You are strong for my loved-ones when I can’t be. I am thankful you are all-knowing – that you know the outcome to this misery I am facing. That I don’t have to figure out what the next week or month or year looks like, because you have it all held together. And you promise my feet won’t slip. Help me, Lord! Strengthen me for today. Give me daily bread, that I can be sustained through this heartache. Thank you God that you are close when I am hurting. Thank you God for the comfort, grace and joy that only you can give. Hold me up today. In your name I pray, Amen.

Prayer #11

Lord, please heal my broken heart. Fill me with the peace and joy I know can only come from You during this hard time. Walk closely beside me during my journey to healing and recovery that I know is possible through Your power alone. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
