Whether you are in a valley or on a mountaintop, we all have a desire to change in some way. These powerful prayers for change in my life are just some examples of the type of prayers you can recite to the Lord and seek a new pathway.
King of Glory, change is often a scary thought, but Your word encourages change; Your faithful servants embraced change. I pray that I follow Abraham’s example and walk in faith when I obey the things that You have called me to do. Abraham was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance; he went out, not knowing where he was going. I pray that I too walk faith-first (instead of feet-first) into change, Amen.
Genesis 1:1 & 1 Corinthians 15:51-52
Awesome God, since the very beginning You brought about change, You created the heavens and the earth to a place that was void and surrounded by darkness. Even in death You bring about change for Your word says that we shall not sleep, but we shall all be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet! Lord, I pray that I embrace change in my life because change is often evidence of You working for my good, Amen.
Beautiful God, I pray that You help me change the things in my life that keep me attached to the world. I pray for change in my life because I do not want to be conformed to this world, instead I need to be transformed by the renewing of my mind, that by testing I may discern what is the will of You, what is good and acceptable and perfect. I pray for a change/renewal of my mind so that I may see a manifestation of change in the atmosphere around me, Amen.
Holy One, I declare change in my life because I do not want to remain stagnant in my relationship with You and in my earthly position in my ministry. I pray against any fears that prevent me from embracing change because I know that You have commanded me to be strong and courageous. I will not be afraid; I will not be discouraged, for You, my God, will be with me as I experience the various transitions of life, Amen.
Oh Lord, thank You for going before me and for being with me through the changes in my life. I know that You will never leave me nor forsake me therefore I will be fearless when life begins to take unexpected turns or uncertain paths. Thank You for being the rock that I can lean on; the rock that never crumbles so that I may walk firmly in change, Amen.
God of All Things New, I believe that through You I can achieve change in my life because You are doing a new thing! Now it springs up; I pray that I perceive it, I pray that I acknowledge that You are the source of my change. Thank You, Father, for making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland! Lord, I thank You for the changes that have occurred in my life and the changes that are about to happen, Amen.
2 Peter 3:9
Dear Father, I rejoice in the change that is taking place in my life. I know that it is only by Your grace and mercy towards me because You are not slow to fulfill Your promise to me as some count slowness, but You have been patient towards me, not wishing that I should perish, but that I should reach repentance. I thank You for the spiritual change that is working within me, Lord, thank You for the spiritual growth that has occurred in my life, Amen.
Righteous God, I pray that whilst I undergo changes in my life, I cling onto You word. My environment may change, people may come and go, time may pass, the grass withers, the flower fades, but Your word stands forever! Lord, I will immerse myself in Your word so that I may be equipped to deal with the changes that come. Father, I pray that when changes occur, the Scriptures will be a comfort to me, Amen.
God of Abraham, You were there before the beginning, before time began! I praise You for who You are – my unshakable, unmovable God! You are the Lord, and You do not change. Therefore, I know that I am not completely lost, even when I experience a change in my life. You are with me and You remain the same, therefore, just as You were faithful and brought Abraham through a season of change, You will do the same for me, Amen.
Precious Lord, I pray that I keep my life free from the love of money and be satisfied with what I have. Righteous God, I pray that even in life’s changes; even when I have not yet reached the desired destination, I will be satisfied in You! For You have said You will never leave me; You will never abandon me. Father, I thank You for being the source of my peace, Amen.
Oh Lord, I am unsure of where life is taking me right now, but I embrace the changes! I embrace the change because I know that You will lead me and be with me. I bless Your Name knowing that You will not fail me or abandon me, so I will not lose courage or be afraid. I will not worry because I know that You are in control, You see what changes I am going through because You are with me, Amen.
Eternal Father, I thank You because Your word is a lamp to guide me and a light for my path. I have declared change in my life and the season of transition has finally come upon me, but I rejoice knowing that I have the best guide – You. Lord, You knew me before I was formed in the womb, therefore You know what is best for me. I pray that You continue to reveal to me, through Your word, where I should go, Amen.
Everlasting God, Your word commands me not to lie to those around me, since I have taken off my old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in the knowledge of its Creator. Lord, I thank You for the spiritual, emotional and eternal changes that have occurred in my life because of You. Thank You for having Your divine way within me so that I am forever free in You, Amen.
