15 Powerful Prayers for Our Children’s Future

Focusing our energy on the next generation and teaching them the morals and values they need to live and have a safe and prosperous future seems like a worthy enough cause. However, we can not do it alone. These powerful prayers for our children’s future serve as the perfect example to the types of prayers we need to recite to lean on the Lord’s ability to direct their future.

Prayer #1

Father, we thank you that in you we have hope and a future for our precious children. Lord, we pray our children would be strong in Your ways, and not be influenced by the evil we see everyday in our culture. Let our children love you with all their hearts, souls, and minds and be faithful to You as their first love. Amen.

Prayer #2

Father, our children are the future leaders of our nation. Help them to concentrate on achieving their goals and aspirations. Remind them that they are children of Your mighty kingdom and no force of darkness will ever harm them in Your presence, where they belong.

Prayer #3

O Lord
Come wrap my dear child up
Within your care today.
Fill their hearts with fun and joy
As they work and play.
Come real close and whisper in your love
Into their hearts I pray.
Be their ever-faithful friend
I trust you to keep them safe.

Prayer #4

Dear Father, we pray you would clothe our children in Your holy armor. We thank you that You are fighting the battle for us. Help our children to stand firm in Your ways. Give them the grace to persevere in a culture bent on stealing their sexual purity and love for you. Amen.

Prayer #5

Lord, we lift up prayer for our children. Lord, we ask for blessings on anything they may do, say and think. We ask for a hedge of protection around them. Protect them physically, mentally, and spiritually. We pray that you would keep them safe.

Prayer #6

Heavenly Father, give my child a discerning spirit! May they know in their gut if something is right or wrong. Many things in this life are permissible, but not all things are necessary. Give them convictions to stand strong in their peer groups. May they be leaders, and not followers. Give them such a keen sense of what will benefit their life and not hinder it! Proverbs 3:21 talks about not losing sight of wisdom and having discretion. I pray that for my child right now!

Prayer #7

Dear Lord,
Today, I once again bring my child to you. Please show me how to parent this precious gift that you have given me. Help me to be the best mother that I can be. I pray that Your Holy Spirit will teach me, Your wisdom will guide me, and Your love will move me. Most of all, Lord, I give this child to You. Please make him a servant after Your own heart. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer #8

Lord, I do not ask you for anything for me, that you would watch over and protect my child is all I ask of thee. Bless them as you have blessed me. Please make their lifes long, healthy, and happy. May you bless them with children of their own. Should the day come when they must walk the road without me, I ask that in your mercy you would see that in my absense they never walk the path alone. Please never let them forget that they are and always will be deeply loved by me. Amen.

Prayer #9

You are the hope ahead of my child
You are the peace beneath.
You are the love light at his/her side
Always aware of the things they need.
You are the shield behind them
You are the shelter above.
You are the joy bright in his/her heart
In you I put my trust.
