6 Best Prayers for Stress Relief

There are many areas of your life where you may experience extreme stress. To help alleviate these feelings, look to the Lord for relief. Here are some great prayers for stress relief that will help to bring you peace.

Take the Pain Away Prayer
Dear Lord, I feel like I’m being held hostage by stress right now.  I feel numb, and nothing makes sense to me.  Father, your word says that we should be anxious for nothing but by prayer and supplication we should present our requests to you.  Lord, I present these feelings of pain and disappointment to you.  Purify me with the blood of your Son, Jesus. Fill my heart with peace that I may be able to focus on what you called me to do and not what has happened.  In Jesus’ name, I believe and pray, Amen.

Thankfulness Prayer
Father, I thank you for making me worthy to come before your throne of grace.  Thank you for loving me with all my failures. I’m grateful to you, Father, because you always answer my prayers.  May I always find the strength to run to you first instead of worrying or running to other people when I am stressed. Help me to look to you for you are my refuge and strength.  It is in Jesus’ name that I believe and pray, Amen.

Financial Prayer
Oh God, I’m so worried right now.  Work has been slow this season, and I don’t know where to get money to take care of my needs.  I am plagued with debts.  Father, your word says that you supply our needs according to your glorious riches.  Come through for me, dear Lord. Grant me a financial miracle that I may not be embarrassed by my creditors. Bless me so that having all that I need at all times I may be able to prosper in every good work and be a blessing to other people who need help. In Jesus’ name, I believe and pray, Amen.

Rest Prayer
Awesome God, heaviness is weighing me down.  I have become restless and insecure because of what is going on in my family.  I come to you with my heavy laden because it’s only in you that I will find real rest. Lord, bring healing to this family and release me from anxiety.  Help me to bask in your love that I may find complete rest in you.  In Jesus’ name, I believe and pray, Amen.

Laying Them All at Your Feet Prayer
Almighty God, I’m very sorry for not trusting you from the very beginning.  I thought I could handle this problem on my own.  Lord, I take every pain, disappointment, fear and anxiety, and I lay them down at your feet.  It is for freedom that Christ came and died for us.  I refuse to be yoked again to the enslavement of fear and anxiety. Father, teach me to expect good things even when circumstances in my life are not promising.  May I always give you first priority because you’re more than able to handle everything that I’m going through. In Jesus’ name, I believe and pray, Amen.

Fear about the Future Prayer
Lord, many scary things are happening in the world today.  People are becoming cold and cruel each waking moment. The things that are against your word are being made legal, and your word is being illegalized.  Our children are being exposed to immorality. All these things are making me panic and live in fear.  I fear for my children and future generations.  I fear for the church.  But Lord, I know nothing catches you by surprise.  Even if the world seems to be winning right now, I know that we are conquerors through Christ Jesus.  Replace fear that is in my heart with courage and strength. Fill my heart with love that my faith may grow and fear may go away. In Jesus’ name, I believe and pray, Amen.
