6 Good Prayers for Deliverance from Smoking

1 John 4:4
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. I pray against the lust of the flesh and my inner thoughts that are enticed by smoking. Your Word reminds me that I am Your child and through You I am an overcomer. Therefore, I declare Your Word, that He who is in me is greater than the one who is in the world. Lord, I thank You that my deliverance is guaranteed because of You, Amen.

James 4:7
Dear Lord, I claim deliverance from smoking in Jesus Name. I pray that through the blood of Jesus Christ, I am released from temptation because such habits are from the devil. So, Lord from this day forward, I will submit to God and resit the devil, knowing that he will flee from me. Father I know You want only good things for me, so I pray that I will draw near to You so that You will draw near to me; thank You Lord, Amen.

Psalm 107:6, 1 Corinthians 6:19
Oh Lord my God, I pray that You give me the strength to stop smoking. It doesn’t benefit me financially, physically, emotionally or spiritually so I pray that You hear my cry and deliver me from this unhealthy addiction. I pray that in times of stress and trouble, I will focus on You, not turning to substances that will abuse my body. I declare that my body is the temple of the Lord, Amen.

Isaiah 43:18-19
Heavenly Father, I pray for the forgiveness of my sins. I acknowledge that I have been smoking for so long, but today I choose to forget the former things and let go of my past. Lord, I choose to do a new thing; I choose to stop smoking in Jesus’ Name. Father, I trust You in that nothing is impossible with You; so I stand on Your Word and promises, Amen.

John 8:36, Romans 13:14
Dear Lord, I am thankful for the body that You have given me and I declare that I will do it no more harm by no longer smoking. I stand on Your Word, that if the Son shall make you free, then you shall be free indeed. Therefore, I declare freedom from smoking addiction, putting on the Lord Jesus Christ and making no provision for my flesh, in Jesus Name I pray, Amen.

Matthew 22:39
Dear Lord, Your Word says that I must love my neighbor as myself and although I am not violently harming those around me, I know that my passive smoking could potentially affect them. If I love them as Your Word instructs, I pray that You give me the strength to stop smoking so that I do not endanger my family and those I come into contact with, in Jesus Name I pray, Amen.
