Philippians 3:20-21
Heavenly Father, we thank You because You are the giver of life. Today, we celebrate life and the spirit of (name of person). Whilst we grieve for loved ones, we are assured that our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Lord Jesus Christ. As we pass through this life, we celebrate the life of (name of person), knowing that one day You shall transform their lowly body that it may be conformed to Your glorious body. Thank You Father for this life, Amen.
Romans 8:38-39
Dear Lord, we thank You for the life of (name of person). We acknowledge this day is a difficult day for some of us. But we take courage in their life and the act of love and care shown to others. (name of person) echoed the love and care You showed on the cross. So, Father I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. We celebrate their memories and ask that You fill that empty void in our hearts, Amen.
Romans 6:8-9
Lord, you are near to those who are broken hearted and for this reason we thank You because our hearts are very broken right now. But we thank You for the gift of life given to (name of person) and we bless You because those who die with Christ, shall also live with Him. We are assured that Christ will raise (person’s name) from the dead and they shall die no more. So, today we celebrate their life, Amen.
John 14:27, John 3:16
Heavenly Father, we are deeply saddened by our loss, but You said peace I leave with you, my peace I give You. Lord we know that those who believe in You, have everlasting life. So, we celebrate the life of (name of person) because they have transitioned from the temporal life to new life. So, help us to hold (name or person) memories as we continue to live on, in the hope of the eternal kingdom. Amen.
Ecclesiastes 3, Revelation 7:17b
Dear Lord, to everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven; a time to be born and a time to die. So, as we journey together in this celebration of life service for (name of person), we rejoice in knowing that You are the resurrection and the life. So, we shall not mourn this day because You promised to wipe away every tear from our eyes. We celebrate their life and pray that Your light shall continue to shine upon us, Amen.
Matthew 5:4, Psalm 27:1, Psalm 63:5
Dear God, the life of (person’s name) was so precious and now that he/she has departed, although we mourn, we are blessed and comforted. So, thank You for being their light and salvation. Thank You for being their help in difficult times and for this reason, our lips shall praise You and bless You whilst we live, Amen.
Psalm 63:7, Romans 12:15
Heavenly Father, we mourn for the life of (name of person). But, in the shadow of Your wings we shall rejoice. We rejoice for their life, we rejoice because of their impact on community. We celebrate their humility and commitment to You. So, as we continue to remember and reflect upon them, we shall rejoice who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn, Amen.
