7 Strong Prayers for Racial Healing

My Prayer for Strength and Healing
O Mighty God, I thank You for Your Word that says that You do not see people in the same way that other people do. You see that we have been created in Your image and likeness. You see that there are no racial differences, because with You, Lord, what is beneath the surface is who we are. What is on the outside is our temporary earthly body. It is our shell. So, I thank You, that I no longer need to be concerned about external judgment, because You, Father, look inside me and know who I am. You know my heart, my God. I am Yours and in You I find my strength! I declare healing in Jesus’ name. Amen.
1 Samuel 16:7

My Prayer against Pain
Jehovah Rapha, my Healer, I pray against the pain of racial slurs that have affected the way I see myself. I am Your child! I have been fearfully and wonderfully made! Help me, my Lord, to love myself in spite of what others think of me. Oh Lord, let Your love envelope my heart and remove the pain of the racism and racial hate I have suffered. Help me to not fear for You are my Refuge and my Rock! You will raise me up and I will shine in Your glory like the sun! Amen.
Psalms 139:14

Prayer to Cleanse My Heart
Heavenly Father, I pray that I am able to see people like You do. I pray that I see people’s hearts instead of focusing on the color of their skin. Remove all anger and hatred from my heart so that I may love honestly and wholeheartedly. Father, Your Word said that if I say I love God, but hate my brother, I am a liar because if I do not love my brother, who I can see, I cannot love God who I cannot see. So, Lord let my mind be renewed so that I can see people with loving eyes, Amen.
Romans 12:2, 1 John 4:20

Prayer for Families Hurt by Racism
Jesus, the Great Physician, I pray for generations that have been affected by racial hate, racism and prejudice. I pray for the families who have been oppressed because they have been marginalized due to the color of their skin. Let the oppressed realize that they are royalty in Your eyes. Help them to realize that whom the Son sets free is free indeed. Heal the broken, and bind their wounds. Strengthen the weak. Wipe every tear from their eye, mighty Savior. This we ask, in Jesus’ all-powerful and healing name. Amen.
1 Peter 2: 9, Isaiah 40:29, 31, John 8:36

Prayer for Nations Divided from Racism
Lord of heaven’s armies, I pray for nations that remain divided due to bitterness. Let history be a reminder to nations that hatred only stirs up wars. Help each nation to let go of beliefs of superiority and replace this with principles of unity, equity and acceptance of diversity. Father, we pray that nations will see people as equals, instead of holding prejudicial thoughts towards specific races. Let nations be driven by Your love, rather than human ambition and hatred. Thank You, Lord, Amen.
Ephesians 4:31, Proverbs 10:12

Prayer for People Hurting from Racism
Righteous Savior, I pray against the pain left behind by racism, bigotry, hatred, stereotyping and prejudice. I pray that those who are still hurting from these sins are healed by the presence of Your overwhelming peace and love. Lord, help us to not hate one another, because anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness. So, Father, remove the pain that is associated with these memories. Let the experiences of racism, judgment and exclusion strengthen those who have been affected by it. Let their hearts be filled with peace. This we pray, Amen.
1 John 2:11a

Prayer for Hearts of Peace and Love
Jehovah Shalom, our God of peace, I pray that You help me love everyone as a brother or sister regardless of their race. Lord, I understand that You came to save us all and I know that not one race is better than another. Oh Lord, help us to not show partiality or favoritism. Unify us, as one body of Your children. Please, have Your divine way in my heart so that I can extend the love You have shown me to Your people. This I ask in Your holy name. Amen.
