11 Powerful Catholic Prayers for Baseball Players

Competing in athletes requires a lot of physical strength and focus. These powerful Catholic prayers for baseball players will get you seeking the Lord’s guidance and strength for your next game.

Prayer #1

God grant me wisdom, to tell a strike from a ball, to know where to throw and never to fall. Keep me always in the base line, running straight and true and I’ll look for your sign, to stretch one into two.

God give me vision, to see every pitch, so if a player needs help, then I will see which. Let me always hustle, so I’ll be at my best and take pride in myself, in sports and the rest.

God be my strength, when I throw the ball when I’m far from home plate, or against a wall. So I never miss a base, please guide my feet, bring me home safely, so my job is complete.

When I help younger players, let me always give praise, so they’ll see you in me, in all of my ways. God please guide our coach, to be fair and smart, to teach us to be good, let it come from his heart.

Let me take a loss, just as well as a win, to do any less, is surely a sin. As long as I can play, let me make my parents proud, as proud as I am, when they yell MY name out loud. However my games end, let me always have fun and if Heaven has All Stars, I want to be one.

When my games here are over and my seasons are done, let me play on your team. just like your son. Amen.

Prayer #2

God, let me play well but fairly.
Help me to learn something that matters
once the game is over.
Let competition make me strong but never hostile.
Always let me help my opponent up.
Never catch me rejoicing in the adversity of others.
If I know victory, allow me to be happy; if I am denied, keep me from envy.
Remind me that sports are just games.
If through athletics I set an example,
let it be a good one. Amen

Prayer #3

Dear God,

May everything I am be a prayer to you. May I race with strength, courage and endurance and fulfil my potential today.

Amen.

Prayer #4

Dear Father,

May I compete with your love shining in my heart. May I push myself to be the best. I believe I can with your wisdom in my mind. May I have the strength, endurance and skills I need to be the athlete I know I can be. I worship you, I surrender to you.

Lord, all that I do today is for you and your glory.

Amen.

Prayer #5

Dear Lord God,

Thank you for all the gifts you have given us. Help us to enter into this event with love, wisdom and strength in our hearts. We pray that we would look to you in awe and worship. May we put into practice all that we have learnt in our training, and bring to mind all the skills and planning from our preparation times. May each of us be aware of your goodness in our lives, and may this goodness pour out of us as a witness to your endless grace. You Lord are our inspiration, our teacher and our protector.

Our trust is in you today and always.

Amen.

Prayer #6

Our Father in heaven,

Thank you for the privilege of training this team. I thank you for each player and all the great talents you have given them. Watch over them now as they compete today. Protect them from injury and fill them with strength and courage as they give of their best.

Amen.

Prayer #7

Dear Lord,

I ask for your strength, your protection and your everlasting love to be with me today.

Amen.

Prayer #8

Dear Father, let the efforts of our minds and bodies be fruitful, that we may perform in a way glorious to You. May the time we spent preparing shine today as a testament to You. Keep our hearts open and our bodies safe from harm. Amen.

Prayer #9

Dear Father, may we compete with Your heart shining through ours. May we push ourselves to be what You tell us we can be. May we have kindness in our hearts, mindfulness in our souls, and endurance to finish. Keep us and our competitors safe from harm, and let our actions be a testament to your glory. Amen.

Prayer #10

Help us, Father, with the pain we feel now and guide us to the knowledge You taught us today through the result.

Help us to honor You and our teammates and competitors with our actions in all things. Amen.

Prayer #11

Thanks God, for giving me life; and talents for my articipation in sports. Help me to play well, to use my powers to the full, to see them as gifts from you. Be with me when I need to play hurt, when I have to deal with the pain of injury, disappointment, loss.

Keep me aware of the brotherhood/sisterhood I have with all athletes, even when they are opponents; free me from the temptation to fake, to foul, to cheat. I need to see that dedication to the cause will mean suffering, but let me know that it is the kind of suffering that leads to new life and greater maturity.

Help me play with heart, and never lose heart. Most of all, help me never to quit in my efforts to be open to you. For I believe your full coming into my life is the way to real life, in all I do; I believe it is the way of my becoming the truly human person you destined me to be.

Amen.
