Colossians 3:13-14
Dear Father, we thank You for this marriage in which You have blessed our lives as husband and wife. We approach You today and declare that our marriage covenant will be filled with love, forgiveness, peace and strength. Help us to bear with each other and to forgive as You forgave us. From today, we will put on love, so that we will be bound in perfect unity, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Ephesians 4:3
Heavenly Father, we acknowledge Your greatness in our marriage, and declare that You are Lord over us. We sincerely pray asking that You will help us recognize and work through those areas in our marriage that displease You. We shall experience higher levels of spiritual, physical and psychological unity in Jesus’ Name. We declare that we will make every effort to keep ourselves united in the Spirit, binding ourselves together with peace, Amen.
Ephesians 5:31
Dear Father, Your Word said that “a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife and the two will become one flesh”. Therefore, in line with Your Word, we pray that our marriage will demonstrate both physical and spiritual intimacy according to Your Word. Oh Lord, in the same way You have called us to intimacy with You, we proclaim intimacy one with another, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Proverbs 3:3-5
Heavenly Father, we pray that despite the challenges we may face in our marriage, we shall never give up. We pray that You will live in our hearts and that we will trust You in all things, never leaning on our own understanding. We proclaim that we shall humble ourselves before You, being strong, bold and courageous. Help us to do everything according to Your Word, because we have the confidence that You will direct our path in Jesus’ Name Amen.
Ephesians 6:11,13, 2 Corinthians 10:4
Dear Father, help us to be sober-minded and watchful, putting on the full armor of God because the adversary seeks to tempt us in our marriage. But we recognise and declare that the “weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through the pulling down of strongholds”. So today, we declare that our marriage is clothed with Your protective shield and as husband and wife we may stand against the plans of the enemy, Amen.
Psalm 9:1
Heavenly Father, I acknowledge You and give thanks for my husband/wife. We are grateful that You have joined us together in holy matrimony; we thank You for all the good things our marriage provides. Therefore, in the midst of challenges, sorrow, financial lack and the increase in giving in to marriages, we declare and ask that You will grant us a heart of thankfulness that despite this challenging season, we will never complain or cease to give thanks for this union, in Jesus’ Name, we pray, Amen.
Philippians 4:6, Psalm 23:1
Heavenly Father, Your Word said that we must not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, we must present our requests to You. So, in the name of Jesus, we come against any anxious thoughts that may present itself in our marriage. We speak life over every dead area of our marriage; we declare that we shall not be anxious concerning financial lack, but we will be confident and live in abundance, because You are our good shepherd in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
