7 Strong Prayers for Mental Health Awareness Week

Isaiah 61:3
Oh Lord, I know that You see me when I struggle internally. But You grant me the oil of joy instead of mourning and I choose to clothe myself with the garment of praise instead of a disheartened spirit. Therefore, I give You the glory and the honour, even when it hurts, I will praise You. I pray that I stand firm in You so that I can be called the tree of righteousness and so that You may be glorified, Amen.

Psalm 46:10
God of Peace, as we approach mental awareness week, I pray that we remain still and know that You are God. Despite what we may think or feel, You are still our God and nothing can change that. Whether we are rich, poor, happy, sad, employed or unemployed You are our God. Your nature is not dependent upon anyone or anything else and for that Father I glorify You. I pray that we put our trust in knowing that You are the Unshakable Rock. Thank You Lord, Amen.

1 Thessalonians 5:18
Heavenly Father, I give You thanks and adoration. It is easy for us to be crippled due to our circumstances, but I give You thanks in all circumstances for this is Your will. So during this mental health awareness week, I pray for those who have suffered mentally, I pray that You shift the current perspective of their mind and give them strength so that they can focus on worshipping You in all things. I pray that You are the focus of their minds not only this week but for the rest of their lives, Amen.

Psalms 23:1
God, I look to You, I pray that we do not become overwhelmed. Give Your people vision to see things as You do. Your word says that You are the Shepherd and with You we will lack nothing. You lead Your people to lie down in green pastures! Father, in You we are guaranteed rest and peace! I pray that during this mental awareness week, Your people are aware of the peace that awaits them in You, Amen.

Philippians 4:6
Righteous One, I know that we mustn’t worry about anything and instead we must pray about everything. I pray that this word resonates in the hearts of Your people during mental awareness week. I pray that those who feel like giving up, or those who feel overwhelmed do not let go of You. I pray that they tell You of their needs and thank You for Your answers because You hear them; thank You Lord, Amen.

Philippians 4:8
Awesome God, I declare positive thinking over the minds of Your people in this particular season – mental awareness week. Your word instructs us to proper thinking, commanding us to fill our thoughts with all that is true, noble, all that is just and pure, all that is lovable and gracious; whatever is excellent and admirable. I pray against negative thinking in Jesus’ Name because the greatest battle can often occur in the mind, Amen.

Proverbs 25:28
Jehovah Shalom, Prince of Peace, I pray for discipline for Your people. Your word states that a man who has no self-control over his spirit (and sets himself up for trouble) is like a city that is broken down without walls. No self-control in the minds of Your people means that they are defenceless and unprotected against attacks. So Lord, I pray that during this mental health awareness week, You keep their minds so that negative thoughts cannot penetrate them, Amen.
