11 Relaxing Evening Prayers for Christians

After a long day of blessings and challenges, spending some time to find peace and gratefulness is a great way to bring a close to the evening. These relaxing evening prayers for Christians serve as some great inspiration and encouragement to have a conversation with the Lord today.

Prayer #1

Lord, I am weak right now. There is so much going on in my life physically and emotionally that I feel like I am at my breaking point! I need Your strength to make it through these times. Father, I pray that tonight while I sleep You will refresh my mind and strength for tomorrow morning. I pray that You will watch over me as I dream peacefully, and bring pleasant thoughts into my mind. I ask these things in Your precious name. Amen.

Prayer #2

Today was a wonderful day! Thank You for allowing me to be Your vessel in spreading Your love to others through my actions today; in public, at work, and even in my own home. I was the salt and the light to many people today. I know there will always be unbelievers, but there are also lost people on very fertile soil. Lord, I pray that the seeds I planted today were on fertile soil. I ask that you water these seeds and reap a bountiful harvest. Thank you for this day! Amen.

Prayer #3

Father, today was a very tough day for me. I am stressed out about bills, finances, work, family issues, and the state of the world that surrounds me. I feel like I am at the end of my rope, and I don’t know how to hold on. Life is out of control right now, and I’m at a loss at to how to face another day.

Lord, I need Your stability right now. You are my Rock! Please refresh my Spirit with song, peace, and reassurance. Refresh my mind with Your Word! Refresh my soul within this prayer, Lord! I know You are in control, and that You will make my paths straight, and iron out all of these trials. What can I learn from these trials? I place these all in Your hands. Amen.

Prayer #4

Heavenly Father, I adore You and thank you for all the graces You have given me this day. I offer You my sleep, my dreams, and all the moments of this night. I pray that you give me rest so that I may wake to Your holy face. I put myself within your sacred care and under the mantle of your Holy Spirit today and always. Please pour out Your blessings upon me, for You are the answer to all things, and You alone. Amen.

Prayer #5

Lord, help us to be aware of wrong thoughts that enter our minds and, when they do, let us not sit and take the beating from the enemy but we can cast down every wrong thought with Your Word. Lord, I come against every mind-binding spirit and every other evil spirit, in the name of Jesus.

Thank You for providing protection and safety even before I asked. I pray this, believing in Your goodness and love, now and forever, amen.

Prayer #6

I am ready to fall asleep and arise tomorrow morning renewed, but I can’t help but think about the anticipation and anguish I have over life as a whole. But in the midst of my worry, I find myself thinking what Heaven will be like. I imagine beautiful walkways where the saints talk and sing praises to You! I imagine the room that Jesus has prepared for me, as He waits for me to join Him. I am reminded that I need not worry about tomorrow, or what is to come. For You alone are my protector, and my everything. Thank You for loving me so much, Father!

Prayer #7

Heavenly Father, as I close this day, I thank You for all the blessings in my life – family, friends, love, hope, and a secure future. I thank You for Your presence in my life, and I pray that You give me wisdom and courage to deal with everything that comes my way tomorrow.

Help me to trust You with my life. Direct my steps and let me walk in Your ways. Dear Father, continue speaking to me every moment of everyday. Allow me to know the perfect peace that only You can provide.

Above everything, protect my mind and actions so that the enemy might not get through to me. Lord, I pray and ask that You give me the wisdom to deal with my circumstances, light my path way through the dark tunnel. Grant me restful sleep tonight, in Jesus name, Amen!

Prayer #8

Lord, please continue to pour out your gracious protection to my family and I this night. Defend us from all dangers, and from the fear of all things, that we may enjoy such refreshing sleep as may fit us for the duties of the coming day, and the days that follow. I ask that you grant me grace to live in such a state that I may never be afraid to die so that, living and dying, I may be Yours.
